ATGI is proud to announce that we have been awarded a subcontract to General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) to support the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in the effort to modernize the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN). This initiative marks the first-ever multi-vendor award to reform the organ procurement system, improving quality, patient safety, IT infrastructure, and communication.
As part of this transformative project, ATGI will support the modernization of the OPTN’s organ matching IT system, ensuring a more efficient, transparent, and patient-centered approach to organ transplantation for the more than 100,000 people on the waitlist. In partnership with GDIT, ATGI will support the program by identifying opportunities to improve the current organ matching system in preparation for development of an advanced, modernized, and integrated IT system.
David Hassett, ATGI's Chief Operations Officer, expressed the team's enthusiasm by saying, ‘We are thrilled to bring our IT modernization and healthcare expertise to this critical mission. By supporting GDIT and HRSA on this program, we are committed to advancing patient safety, enhancing transparency, and driving improvements in the national organ transplant system.’
